The 909 Group, which took over operational responsibilities for Drive for Diversity in 2009, own and operate 11 drivers. Under the Revolution Racing banner, these minority and female drivers compete on five NASCAR K&N Pro Series teams and six NASCAR Whelen All-American Series teams. One driver competes in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series west with Bill McAnally Racing. The race was a 100 mile race, 1/2 mile dirt track. Scott finished 17th (next to last) and started 9th. NASCAR celebrated Wendell Scott's first start in Atlanta on March 6th & 7th. The decal was on NASCAR Sprint Cup cars and NASCAR Camping World trucks. Also, the Drive for Diversity drivers will display the decal and patch on their cars and fire suits for the 2010 season.</p> <a id="opinion"></a><p><strong>NASCAR Opinion Leader Program</strong></p> <p>Diversity Affairs hosted the first Opinion Leader program in Atlanta, GA at the Atlanta 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. As part of our efforts to reach out to the minority community, NASCAR invited a number of professionals for a meet and greet as well as a "Day at the Track." NASCAR partners with local colleges to identify students with career aspirations in motorsports related fields and Industry representatives volunteer their time to provide students an insider view of various careers. </p> <p>The NASCAR Diversity Mentorship Program will kick off in Richmond on April 29th with an information session tailored for students at Virginia State University, Virginia Commonwealth University and Virginia Union University. One portion of the program aims to bring NASCAR to college campuses and offer an entry point for diverse students who might be interested in a career in motorsports. </p> <p>On April 30th - May 1st, Richmond International Raceway will host the on track portion of the NASCAR Diversity Mentorship Program. The exhibition is organized by The Henry Ford in collaboration with automobile racing legend Lyn St. James and the Women in the Winner's Circle Foundation.</p> <p>"We're very excited to be the first venue to host this unique exhibit," said Kim Isemann, General Manager of Daytona 500 Experience. "The Women in the Winner's Circle exhibit is a great addition to Daytona 500 Experience and we're looking forward to showcasing the racing careers of these women who were great pioneers of motorsports."</p> <p>The Women in the Winner's Circle exhibition will engage viewers and inform them about the history of women in motorsports while raising awareness of the growing women's presence and leadership in the sport.
